I must confess to some tunnel vision.
I pretty much work in a focused mental state as of late. The main things on my mind are finishing up Torment and concentrating on making it a game a person like yourself would enjoy playing. To me, that means actually playing the game and correcting stuff that doesn't make sense. A couple weeks ago Yuki Furumi (Programmer) added in keyboard shortcuts to the interface in the game (unlike Baldur's, where it was OUTSIDE the game itself). This one addition to the game has added tremendously to playability. You'd be amazed how easy it is to get into the play now. Many, if not all, of the functions in the game are hot key mappable and it's much easier to play in near real time when your fav mappings are set. Even turn based mode is easier (and more fun) when you can quickly assign spells and attacks to the various baddies around you. I think the best part about what's happing right now is you'll only see the good stuff. You're going to be on the receiving end of the product. You didn't see the game when it had the rough, temp interface. You didn't see the game with untextured buildings or unimplemented AI. You may never know what a 'clown' character looks like. (Well, what the hey. I included a picture of a townie clown for your enjoyment. Why don't YOU tell me why she looks this way. HAHAHAHAH) Anyway, Quick Status report: Over half the movie are finished, finito, done-o-rama. Of the remaining ones, all but six or so should be finished this week. Amazingly enough, there are animatics (animated storyboards) for all the remaining movies so it is just a matter of following the pretty pictures and finishing up. Till next week,
